 A live, hand-painted portrait by an exceptional artist is a great way to delight and entertain your guests as they see a timeless keepsake or favour unfold before thier eyes. This could be a wedding, birthday, coporate event or any celebration with a gathering of people. 

My paintings use to the best materials including 100% cotton Arches 300 GSM paper. Most of the guests are painted in a stylistic fashion pose if they choose with a cloudy background and shadow beneath the feet. The guest names are also written on the portrait and at an additional cost a personalised stamp with your names and date of the wedding or event can be applied to each painting adding an extra personalised touch. Finally all paintings come with a frame mount and plastic sleeve for safe keeping - see picture below

Contact me via "Contacts" below to see if your date is available and we can discuss your plans for your event and package you would like to go for. I will also send you a questionnaire with a view to arrange a telephone consultation before you secure your booking. Please book early as I get booked up quickly.   

 If content with the arrangements you can make a purchase or place only a 10% deposit with a 14 day cooling off period to secure the date. Full payment is required 4 weeks before the event.

On the day I'll arrive about 1 hour before the start of the event to set up. At the appropriate moment guests come to me to take a quick photo of them in any pose they choose where I will start drawing from the photo. 

As each painting is unique only one household can take it away so it is recommended couples/singles/familes rather than groups of friends. 

A drawing of a couple takes around 10 minutes and guests are welcome to watch the painting process or they can wander off for a drink or dance and thier portrait will be ready for collection at the end of the night or sooner

1. How much does it costs to hire a live illustrator?

There are two A5 packages: 

Half day 4 hours for £499 
Full day 8 hours for  £899 

Both packages includes full consultation, watercolour and ink portrait, 100% Arches 300 GSM cotton paper, artist's travel expenses to and from the venue (to be confirmed at booking), live painting and interacting with guests. Only a 10% deposit is required to secure the booking. 

2. How long does it take? 

Each portrait/couple takes roughly 10 mins however guest are free to wander off for a drink or dance and return where they will find thier portrait displayed to take away. 

3. Do you travel? 

Yes anywhere in the UK. I'm based in South London and my fee covers travel around most areas of the UK. However this will be confirmed when you inform me of the location of the event. I will always try to keep costs down and avoid an overnight stay if possible. 

4. How far ahead can I book? 

I would suggest to save your date sooner than later. I can hold your date for a period of time at your enquiry until you decide after our telephone consultations.  You only need to provide a 10%  deposit to secure your booking 

5. What deposit do I need to pay?

You only need to provide a 10%  deposit to secure your booking. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to your wedding. Contact me below if you would like to save your date 

6. Are you insured?

Yes I have full public liability insurance of upto £5 million pounds.  

7. Some live event painters use e felt pens or acrylics, why do you paint in  watercolour? 

This is basically down to preference, but watercolours is my preferred medium and expertise because it is renowned for its light, bright, and translucent qualities. It is also the most difficult medium to master which takes many years of training to achieve a professional finish. The vibrant but soft nature of watercolours captivates the viewer’s eye in ways that are much different from, let’s say, the thick nature of oil or acrylic paints or flet pens. In my view it provides a much more natural and warm depiction of the subject with an artistic feel. I also love the blend between colours and texture when used properly on the finished painting.

9. Can my guest watch you paint? 

Absolutely that's the point. I make an effort to actively engage with your guests. 

10. What makes your live illustrations different from other painters/illustrators?

Firstly I'm an exceptional portriat artist with plenty of reel and works of art on my instagram page (pheiselart). I use artist grade paints for the best rersults including Arches 100% cotton 300 GSM paper. I tend to draw my guest in a stylistic fashion pose (if they choose) with a cloudy background and shadow for artistic effect. My portraits all come with the names of guests and a frame mount and plastic sleeve for safe keep. Finally I am competatively and reasonbly price for this quality of service and product.
