A live, hand-painted portrait by an exceptional artist is a great way to delight and entertain your guests as they see a timeless favour unfold before thier eyes. This could be a wedding, birthday, corporate event or any celebration with a gathering of people. 

My hand painted guest portraits will convey the joy, emotion and celebration so they will remember your wedding day for many years to come  - a favour to cherish and not to throw away or be eaten! 

Such is my passion for painting beautiful guest portraits, I offer an affordable and tailored service to ensure your favours give a smile and "wow factor" to your guest on the day. My warm and engaging personality will entertain your guests underpinned with a sense of humour, good manners and great chat. My paintings use to the best approach and materials including: 

 - A5 Arches 100% cotton 300 GSM paper

 - guests are painted in a stylistic fashion pose if they choose with a shadow beneath the feet.

  - your own personalised stamp with yours and partners name and date of the wedding - adding an extra personalised touch

 - a frame mount and plastic sleeve on all paintings for safe keeping - see pictures below

 - PLUS A4 protrait of the newlyweds completed after the wedding.

Here is how it works:  

Contact me via "Contacts" below to see if your date is available and we can discuss your plans for your event and package you would like to go for. I will also send you a questionnaire with a view to arrange a telephone consultation before you secure your booking. Please book early as I get booked up quickly.   

 If content with the arrangements you can make a purchase or place only a 10% deposit with a 14 day cooling off period to secure the date. Full payment is required 4 weeks before the event.

On the day I'll arrive about 1 hour before the start of the event to set up. At the appropriate moment guests come to me to take a quick photo of them in any pose they choose where I will start drawing from the photo. 

As each painting is unique only one household can take it away so it is recommended couples/singles/familes rather than groups of friends. 

A drawing of a couple takes around 10 minutes and guests are welcome to watch the painting process or they can wander off for a drink or dance and thier portrait will be ready for collection at the end of the night or sooner

1. How much does it costs to hire a live illustrator?

There are two A5 packages: 

Half day 4 hours for £499 (40 guests or 20 couples)
Full day 8 hours for  £899 (80 guests)

Both packages includes full consultation, watercolour and ink portraits, 100% Arches 300 GSM cotton paper, artist's travel expenses to and from the venue (to be confirmed at booking), live painting and interacting with guests and A4 portrait of the newlyweds completed after the wedding. Only a 10% deposit is required to secure the booking. 

2. How long does it take? 

Each portrait/couple takes roughly 10 mins however guest are free to wander off for a drink or dance and return where they will find thier portrait displayed to take away. 

3. Do you travel? 

Yes anywhere in the UK. I'm based in South London and my fee covers travel around most areas of the UK. However this will be confirmed when you inform me of the location of the event. I will always try to keep costs down and avoid an overnight stay if possible. 

4. How far ahead can I book? 

I would suggest to save your date sooner than later. I can hold your date for a period of time at your enquiry until you decide after our telephone consultations.  You only need to provide a 10%  deposit to secure your booking 

5. What deposit do I need to pay?

6. Are you insured?

Yes I have full public liability insurance of upto £5 million pounds.  

7. Some live event painters use e felt pens or acrylics, why do you paint in  watercolour? 

This is basically down to preference, but watercolours is my preferred medium and expertise because it is renowned for its light, bright, and translucent qualities. It is also the most difficult medium to master which takes many years of training to achieve a professional finish. The vibrant but soft nature of watercolours captivates the viewer’s eye in ways that are much different from, let’s say, the thick nature of oil or acrylic paints or felt pens. In my view it provides a much more natural and warm depiction of the subject with an artistic feel. I also love the blend between colours and texture when used properly on the finished painting. 

8. Do you have any other works and do you paint faces on the guest illustrations?

Whlist I pride myself on painting good facial likeness but this takes time and prefer not to draw a standard face where everyone looks the same. Moreover I'm keen couples make the best use of my time at thier wedding to provide a quality favour to paint as many guests as possible. That is why I don't add faces but if this is important to you please let me know.  

9. Can my guest watch you paint? 

Absolutely that's the point. I make an effort to actively engage with your guests. 

10. What makes your live illustrations different from other painters/illustrators?

Firstly I'm an exceptional portriat artist with plenty of reel and works of art on my instagram page (pheiselart). I use artist grade paints for the best results including Arches 100% cotton 300 GSM paper. I tend to draw my guests in a stylistic fashion pose (if they choose) with a cloudy background and shadow beneath the feet for artistic effect. My portraits all come with the names of guests written in beautiful calligraphy script and a frame mount and plastic sleeve for safe keeping. Finally I am competatively and reasonably price for this quality of service and product. 

11. Do you have any reviews or testimonals? 

Absolutely, however for transparency and authencity these are held on my Hitch account where the client's themselves have written the review or testimonal. These are also supported by my video reels. I was also recognised as the most valued and recommended vendor for live wedding painting in the Hitch 2026 Wedding Awards.
