Live Wedding Painting
A photograph depicts things as they are in real life, but a painting has the opportunity to capture the moment or heightened feelings of your special day. Furthermore a live painting by an exceptional artist is a great way to entertain guests and see the memory of the event unfold on your memorialise your special day. Not only do you get a keepsake that you can hold onto forever, but it's an experience for you and your guests to enjoy seeing a moment captured in real-time on paper. Children are also fascinated by the process.

The process is very simple – here is how it works:

1. Contact me via "Contacts" below to see if your date is available and we can discuss your plans for your event. I also send you a full information pack. Please book early as I get booked up quickly.

2. My information pack will contain my agreement and a questionnaire to get all your contact info, venue info, planner contact, times, et. If content with the arrangements you can make a purchase to secure the date or place a deposit with a 14 day colling off period.

3. Once payment is made I'll handle it from there! I'll be in contact with your planner, organiser or venue manager to figure out the logistics of where I'll be located during the event so you stay stress-free when it comes to the date of your event.

4. On the day I'll arrive about 1-2 hours before the start of the event, ceremony or the reception (whichever moment you'd like to be painted) to set up and get started on sketching the background and composition. I'll continue to sketch and paint while the event is occurring and afterwards I may or may not be moved to a different spot to continue throughout the reception so your guests can view and interact with me while they enjoy the remainder of the event.

5. My time is around 6 hours but I’m flexible in order to capture the right moment and finish the painting! I'll be taking photos and videos before and throughout the event to make sure I capture everything to reference when continuing the sketching/painting. These will be deleted after the event.

6. At an appropriate point at the event you may wish a big reveal to the guests and take home a completed painting in a frame to cherish forever.

7. All packages include a finished watercolour painting to take home by the end of your event. I'd be happy to make any additional adjustments at home and post securely to your address.

8. Any travel expenses will be calucated on a mileage basis and agreed before the booking. I can travel thoughout the UK .

9. If you decide to cancel your event for any reason, I will retain your deposit or if paid in full, 10% of your payment. If I have to cancel before your event for any reason, you will be fully refunded. Rescheduling may be available if my calendar is open on the new date.

10. Please contact me so I can send you a full client information pack including my terms, questionnaire and referral money back scheme.

3. Do you travel?

7. Many living wedding painter use canvas and acrylic painting, why do you paint in watercolour?

This is basically down to preference, but watercolours is my preferred medium because is renowned for its light, bright, and translucent qualities. The vibrant but soft nature of watercolours captivates the viewer’s eye in ways that are much different from, let’s say, the thick nature of oil or acrylic paints. It provides a much more natural and accurate depiction of the scene with an artistic feel. I also love the blend between colours and texture when used properly on the finished painting. Finally my paintings are all presented in a glass frame with mount which will compliment any home environment.

8. When will I receive my painting?

I will aim to present your painting on the day or if necessary additional studio time may be necessary free of charge. The painting will be delivered to you securely using tracked delivery.

9. Can my guest watch you paint?

Absolutely that's the point. I make an effort to actively engage your guests. On some occasions guest even contribute their artistic touch to your painting. Don't fret, though. If they happen to place a colour in an unintended spot, I can lift off the paint or paint over it.

10. Does my painting come with a frame?

Yes my price includes a black, white, oak or rustic frame with white mount and glass display - not a cheap plastic Perspex display!
